When designing the MEZZO G3, we were inspired by the legendary models of the last century. Speakers with powerful woofers combined with horns for the mid and high frequencies. It is a timeless, impressive concept that has lost none of its enduring fascination. Our mission is to bring these classic concepts into the present, using our expertise and the latest technological possibilities.
A full-range horn loudspeaker that has never been seen before in its uncompromising nature. A MEZZO G3 that pays tribute to its role models of the past and comes closer and closer in sound to our true reference – the TRIO G3 with SpaceHorns.

The MEZZO G3 midrange/treble unit is based on the large, low-frequency 670mm spherical wave horn from the DUO series, combined with the 200mm XT3 super-tweeter from the TRIO series. The crossover has been redesigned using the new NatureCapPlus capacitor with a special high-grade foil and an adapted circuit layout. To correct the phase angle, the position of the tweeter can now be precisely adjusted to the listening position using a rotary knob.

At the heart of the new MEZZO G3 is a completely new bass concept. Based on the classic models of large classical cinema systems, we now use a large horn-loaded bass reflex system. At the frontside, the sound is emitted via a short 0.645 square metre horn. At the back, the sound is coupled through an enlarged cabinet volume with two huge 120mm bass reflex tubes firing downwards. Instead of one large 15-inch driver, we use two much lighter 12-inch drivers. The XB12 with its 6-inch motor structure is the benchmark in terms of power-to-weight ratio of the moving mass.

The result is a level of bass power and performance that is unrivalled by any other super speaker system on the market. Regardless of price.

Not quite as good as the TRIO with SpaceHorns – but damn close.

SEMI-ACTIVE VERSION.

The semi-active version is designed to be used with external hi-fi amplifiers.
With an efficiency of 107dB/W/m and an impedance of 18 ohms, the speaker is extremely easy to operate and ideal for low-power amplifiers. The ideal speaker for the world’s finest high-end amplifiers.

iTRON VERSION.

In the iTRON version, the amplifiers are built into the speaker, eliminating the need for external power amplifiers. To achieve this, we have developed an electronic system that is based on a fundamentally different operating principle to any of the conventional amplifiers on the market. We are the first manufacturer in the world to achieve what was previously thought to be an impossible technological feat. For a sound that is simply heavenly.

Modular technology for versatility & timelessness.

Each model has a replaceable technology module that connects to the loudspeaker via a multi-pin power connector. This makes it easy to upgrade the semi-active speaker with iTRON technology at a later date.

It can be upgraded to the most advanced digital technology available at the time, even after many years.

This ensures the sustainability of your investment for generations to come.

Coplanar alignment of the drivers.

In the speaker, all the drivers are on the same axis. This means that the acoustic centres are all in the same plane. The distance between the acoustic centres of the drivers and the listener is therefore always identical.

The perfect crossover.

With our SphericLowCut filter, Airgate technology and PolarizationPlus circuit, we have developed the most innovative technological concepts in our passive crossover.

These are completed with the highest quality components available. Our new NatureCap is an extremely complex capacitor, handmade in Germany. The electrodes are made from precision-rolled aluminium foil, rather than ultra-thin plastic film vaporized with aluminium. The dielectric is a cellulose fibre compound impregnated with organic oils. The NatureCap is approximately 25 times larger than the previous XD series capacitors and is securely mounted to the circuit board using specially manufactured brackets.

With the new MEZZO G3, the phase of the tweeter is corrected by a special rotary mechanism that allows the tweeter to be moved forward or backward. Depending on the listener’s position, the tweeter can be precisely adjusted using a knob on the top of the cabinet to balance the distance between the listener, tweeter and midrange.
