The TC-5B is the brand new phono preamplifier for MM systems from Dynavox. It is used when a turntable is to be operated on an amplifier without a phono input or when an internal phono connection does not meet the sound requirements. With phono preamplifiers, the extremely small signal from the record player is amplified and equalized and thus prepared for connection to an amplifier. These signals are very sensitive to interfering signals of all kinds, which can be expressed as annoying noise or hum. With the TC-5B, therefore, in addition to the sound properties, great emphasis was placed on minimizing these interferences.

In addition to the well-shielded and high-quality housing made of metal with a solid 4 mm front or The rear of the TC-5B is made of aluminum and has an external power supply unit to minimize interference. In addition, however, the TC-5B comes up with a top feature that is unusual in its price class, as it also gives it the option of switching from power supply via power pack to voltage supply via battery operation (9V block). Depending on the turntable or the setup of the system, this can make a huge difference in sound. A standard alkaline 9V block (not included) is sufficient for around 40 hours of music enjoyment.
